Week of Great Spring Fishing on Guntersville - April 15, 2015

Water Temperature: 67
Water Clarity: 2-3 feet

This report is for Thursday and Friday of last week. Finished out the week with my boys from Michigan! Man we had an absolute great time catching fish shallow pitching docks and wood! One five pounder took 2 minutes to fight out! What a ride. We even caught this giant black crappie off a hump. He ate a 3/4 ounce rayburn red trap!

Fishing is great right now on Guntersville for numbers and big fish. There are fish doing a little bit of everything right now. You can catch them deep on carolina rigs, or shallow dragging soft plastics. Our best results have came from dragging soft plastics on shallow points, prim rose/gator grass, and old lily pad stems. If you get super shallow with a frog and a buzzbait on warm days the will crush it! You don't get many bites, but when you do they are "good-uns." I am open during May! Give me a shout I would love to fish with you.

We are about a month behind from our normal seasonal patterns so the topwater bite is about to explode! Then we will have the mayfly hatch and the shad spawn. Should make for exciting fishing.

Good luck boys and girls!

Tight Lines.
