Summer Fishing on Guntersville - July 3, 2016

Water Temperature: 87
Water Clarity: 2-3 feet

We have had some big days on Guntersville the past week! I had guys from Florida, Georgia, and Alabama. Guntersville may have dropped off the top 10 list but we wouldn't have known it this week! Its summer yes, and the fishing can be SLOW at times, but every body of water has slow periods throughout the day. Its fishing not catching! The biggest reason for feeding frenzy periods throughout the day is lack of current. When you have current they tend to eat, or graze, all day as food is washed downstream for convenient meals. We aren't topping 10,000 cfs most days. The effect is these schools of fish are having "meal times" rather than consistently eating, so you have to be persistent.

The best bite remains around deeper grass edges and creek channel swings. Dragging Tightline Jigs muscle crawler football jigs, crawling a little head 4.5 deep on a 3/4 ounce True Lock swimbait head, Rapala DT 20 cranks, Bullshad, and dragging soft plastics around new grass remain the best producers.

I have had a good number of electronics courses the past few weeks, along with my new electronics and fishing package. Call me to find out the details!

Lets go fishing...
