Pickwick Swimbait Fishing - November 2015

pickwick bass fishing

Water Temperature: 68
Water Clarity: 2-3 feet

This report is for the last two weeks on Pickwick Lake. I will say the smallmouth are starting to chew! I have a separate report for that :) I have had 4 trips to the lake and it has been a BLAST hooking into Pickwick Bass on topwaters and swimbaits. The best swimbait for us by far has been the True Bass Swimbait Little Head 4.5 in ICU, Turbo, and 99 Problems. (those are the colors). They also work GREAT on Alabama Rigs... and will run true on 1/8 ounce heads. For topwaters they have been eating everything from Spook Jr to Chug Bugs. Chrome colors or bone. One day the wanted it barely moving and then others a steady cadence did the trick.

There are still fish in the grass. The main grass mats have been sucked dry leaving the scattered edges and deeper grass still fishable. Rig a True Bass weedless and cast down the edges and hold on... A screw lock swimbait hook with a 1/4 ounce belly weight will do the trick. You should be able to get everything from Perkins Outdoors. They have everything you need!

The fishing will get better all the way through December.

If you have a tournament coming up or just want to fun fish give me a call, and LETS GO FISHIN!
