Pickwick Fishing Smallmouth Late March

Water Temperature: 55
Water Clarity: 2-3 feet

I had a guide trip last on Pickwick recently. I decided to hold the report until after the Alabama Bass Trail. Well here it is! We absolutely smashed them. I had a great group of guys from Indiana down to catch big SMALLMOUTH!

Well little did they know they would catch their personal best largemouth as well!! My clients caught their best a 6.77 largemouth and a 5.84 largemouth. We caught around 25 fish on the day. The current was pushing around 70,000 and the fish were on fire! They were absolutely hammering our baits. We are throwing swimbaits, crankbaits, jigs, and shakey heads from McFarland Park to the Dam.

They key to the fishing right now is current current and more current. Whenever the lake gets pulled back up from construction down river the bite is going to EXPLODE! Come fishing with me. I have days available for you!

I currently have April 14-17th, 21-24th open, and May is pretty wide open for right now!!! The fishing will only get better on Pickwick Lake. Topwater is in the future.....
