Late January on Lake Guntersville - January 30, 2014

Water Temperature: 38
Water Clarity: 2-3 feet

This report is for the past week of fishing. There has really been some up and downs on the water with the incoming cold fronts. The fish seem to be regularly on the move. Leading up to the rattle trap tournament a great feeding time has been around 330PM or 1530. It has been a grind on the water battling the ice, temperatures, and wind.

We have been catching fishing grass edges where they connect to deeper water. Underwater points have been a great starting place. Our biggest fish the past week has been a little over 6lbs. The greatest factor in catching fish right now is being persistent and covering water. Best baits so far have been a Tightline 1/2 ounce football jig in Guntersville Special, rattle traps, swimbaits, and jerkbaits. Remember to be safe on the water with the current ice. Some floating chunks are in the creeks so be vigilant and stay safe.

I have days available to fish with you!
