Water Temperature: 83
Water Clarity: 2-3 feet
Went out to for a short afternoon Electronics/Fishing trip. We had an absolute BLAST catching topwater fish all afternoon. My client caught the biggest fish on a little head 4.5 in Hot Sauce. They absolutely smash these baits... We caught over 20 fish in 3 hours and all but 4 came off a True Bass Swimbaits little head 4.5. The other fish fell to a 6 inch dirty bone BULLSHAD and a Rapala Xrap PROP BAIT. They will smash those too... :) Nothing like seeing a wake after your bait for 10 seconds running it down to inhale it. We did catch a frog fish as well. I know we could have caught many more frog fish, but why throw it when you can throw a true bass with a VMC hook and get bit way more aggressively... Don't slow down unless you have to!
Fall is really kicking in. Even with the highs back around 90 these longer nights are keeping the water temperature from really rising that much during the day, so it is really balancing out. The fishing will get better all the way through Christmas. Look for the topwater to continue and for the frog a flipping bite to increase as these fish keep pushing into these thick nasty mats of GRASS!
I have days available to fish, and I want to fish with you! Lets go!
