What an awesome day caught some prespawn girls on Guntersville. Went out with some great guys from the Guntersville area March 7th. We found fish scattered and everywhere. We bounced around hitting several areas from 3 foot flats with grass stubble, rock banks, and bridges. There was a cold front blowing through that day but we still found some great size!
We caught fish on everything including jerkbaits, Tightline football head jigs in G'ville special, and rattle traps. The fish decided to shut down around noon for us. Then turned back on around 2pm right before the rain pushed through. Guntersville is in a huge transition phase and the next full moon all of these fish are going to make a HUGE push. There have been big females trickling into the flats, but those 40 fish trap days are still to come!
If you head to the lake look for your traditional staging and transition areas and you will be sure to find fish. Looking forward to this warm spell!!
