What a windy day on Guntersville yesterday! We started the day off strong catching fish, but once the high pressured moved in pushing the clouds out the bass shut off for a couple hour period. The wind was gusting to 25mph and if you could hold on your spot you could get bit, but taking waves over the boat is less than ideal for throwing a rattle bait! I chose to throw a 3/4 with all the surface commotion and it paid off catching fish consistently throughout the day. I actually threw a crappie pattern trap. I think only the primary colors of the bait are important. As long as they can see it with the current conditions. Also was able to catch a few fish on a Scatter Rap deep on the edge of the grass in helsinki. When they get it they usually have it choked.
Good luck to the Fishlife College anglers, BFL anglers, and trap anglers! Should be a great weekend for fishing with this springlike weather moving in.
I currently have these dates available for the rest of the month with 3 dates pending deposit. FEB 9-12, 16,17, 19-22, 24-28
Lets go fishing!
